The Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) is a standardized test that is frequently taken by applicants for college admissions in the United States. 1. Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW):
- Reading Test: This section includes passages from a variety of sources (literature, historical documents, social sciences, and natural sciences). Students are tested on their ability to comprehend these passages, understand their meanings, and draw inferences.
- Writing and Language Test: This section assesses students' ability to revise and edit written passages to improve clarity, coherence, and effectiveness. It covers grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and rhetorical skills.
2. Master SAT Math Basics:
The Math Test is divided into two sections:
- No Calculator: This section tests problem-solving and analytical skills using algebra, geometry, and other mathematical concepts. Calculators are not allowed here.
- Calculator: This section allows the use of a calculator and tests additional topics in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and data analysis.
3. Optional Essay (Writing):
- Although the SAT Essay is optional, some colleges require it. It measures students' ability to analyze and critique a provided source text. SAT Format and Scoring Guide:
- The SAT is a paper-based test with multiple-choice questions and an optional essay.
- Each section (Reading, Writing and Language, Math) is scored on a scale of 200-800, with the total score ranging from 400-1600.
- The optional Essay is scored separately on a scale of 6-24
